As the Club Secretary and Assistant Coach, Zarko believes in the importance of building strong, positive and productive relationships in order to achieve your goals. As a former student athlete, he understands the pressures of balancing work and study with sports, both for leisure and competition.
Zarko has an interest in NLWLC’s ‘Strong-Youth’ Programme and the development of youth athletes, as well as making the sport as accessible and inclusive as possible to anyone wishing to try it out.
Zarko says “The physiological effects of weightlifting are obvious, but it’s the unseen and more intimate mental effects that really bloom positively as a direct result of this sport. The relationships made as well as the motivation and drive to grow into the strongest version of yourself is important and the environment provided at NLWLC can only help develop this further.”
