NLWLC Coaching Courses Information

These courses provide coached work schedules with planned progression of exercises for skill acquisition and strength development. Payment is expected on booking. Members receive discount.

Course One

Introduction to Olympic Weightlifting

Learning to lift
12 sessions* of 90 mins based on 2 sessions per week
6 week course
Non-Members £180.00

This course is designed for someone who has not had any technical training in the skill of Weightlifting but who has a basic fitness of conditioning with free weights
Each session will begin with an assessment, reviewing movement patterns, flexibility, and strengths.
The session will then progress through the disciplines of the Snatch and Clean & Jerk, it’s variations and derivatives. The session will be split into two parts: Technical training and Strength & Conditioning.

Technical training will develop skills related directly to the competition lifts.
The S&C element of the class will aim develop your entire physique, to enable you to handle greater loads, increase movement, speed, and strength. This section will teach and progress pushing and pulling movements such as squats, deadlifts, presses, pull-ups etc.

*This is an estimate of how many sessions you may require to progress through to the next level of the NLWLC courses. The coach may request you stay in these classes for longer to fully understand the technical lifts and improve strength.

Coached Personal (one-to-one) Sessions:

Non-Members – 75 mins - £75
Members – 75 mins - £40

These are one-to-one sessions with a coach that will tailor for all of your requirements.

Coached Personal (one-to-one) - Block sessions

6 session blocks of 75 mins
Non-Members £325
Members £195

These are block discounted one-to-one sessions with a coach that will tailor for all of your requirements.

Courses for Athletes

A series of courses are being planned specifically towards athletes and their events.
These Strength & Conditioning Courses will include the basics of Olympic Weightlifting

NOTE:
All NLWLC memberships and courses are not inclusive of entry fees to Lee Valley Athletics Centre. This is a separate membership that needs to be arranged by the individual.

ALL NLWLC COURSE FEES TO BE PAID IN ADVANCE AND ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR REFUNDS.

The club facilities will be available from Monday to Friday - 5.00 - 8.30pm, Some Saturdays - 8am to 12.30pm. Participants to all courses will be coached as part of a small group, and possibly be sharing a platform unless they have booked one-to-one personal training. Coaching course schedules will be published on the club website and on the club noticeboard soon.
