Crystal Palace Senior Competition
Daniel Gavin, who recently joined our club only five months ago, made an amazing gold medal performance with his first senior competition at Crystal Palace. Representing the Club in a regional qualifier, he came first in his grouping with a total of 184Kg. He weighed in at 80.5Kg, snatched 82Kg and Jerked 102Kg. He has been working extremely hard with Coach Adam on technique and strength development.
Well done Dan.
Workshop Event Report – February 2016
Our first Workshop event hosted by Mehmed Fikretov was a resounding success.
All our 6 platforms were well occupied with intermediate and some novice lifters who were literally put through their paces with his expert guidance.
The lifters worked through a prescribed session of Snatch, Clean, and Jerk lifts with assistance exercises that are not usually illustrated in training manuals, that exposed their skills as well as their fitness and mobility.
Mehmed is a great Coach, his vast lifting experience and biomechanical knowledge gives him the ability to immediately see what mistakes and errors are being made, so that he can demonstrate how to correct the movements and explain the anatomical efficiency aspects. The Club coaches recorded video for immediate feedback purpose and further analysis.
After a final Q&A briefing, Mehmed signed the Certificates, and everyone departed feeling well rewarded.
